Why we Worship

PSALM 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

THEME: The sacrifice of Jesus to bring us back to God is so magnificent, that for all of eternity, it will be the theme of our praise. There will never be a time when it is inappropriate or out of date to thank our Savior Jesus Christ.

Lyrics | Description

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Perfect love outpoured
Death that brought us back to life
You are worthy O Lord
    To receive power and wealth
    To receive wisdom and strength
    To receive honor and glory and endless praise

Jesus, Son of God, Son of man
What an awesome cost
To redeem this sinful race
You hung upon the cross
    By your blood our debt was paid
    Now by grace we have been saved
    Loving Lord, is this not worthy of endless praise?

Risen Lamb now glorified
Righteous, Holy One
O for language fit to express
Our thanks for all you've done
    King of kings, Lord of lords
    Light of life, Ancient of Days
    We adore you, we exalt you with endless praise
