Why we Worship

PSALM 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

THEME: The Holy Spirit and our need for Him to supernaturally take over. This song is a prayer for change, and a revival of what has been lost and needs to be restored in the believer's heart.

Lyrics | Description

Gracious Spirit, won't you visit us?
Rend the heavens and come down
May your presence here be undenied
Turn this meeting upside down

HOLY SPIRIT, WON'T YOU COME AND SHAKE THIS PLACE
BREATH OF HEAVEN, FILL US WITH YOUR LOVE AND GRACE
REVIVE, RENEW, WE'RE MORE THAN OVERDUE
SHAKE THIS PLACE!  SHAKE THIS PLACE!

Though we stand in awe of all you've done
Work your wonders once again
Send a shower on our thirsty souls
End this dryness, let it rain

Jolt us out of our complacency
Forge a passion and a zeal
Pour the love of God into our hearts
Every truth of Christ reveal
