Why we Worship

PSALM 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

Why Scripture?

So Much Joy

THEME: The coming of God's Son in the flesh to the town of Bethlehem was the best possible news, and the whole world would benefit. The angels couldn't contain themselves as they told the news, so why should we?

Lyrics | Description

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light
A son is given unto us
To offer heaven's righteousness
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light

SO MUCH JOY, JOY
OVER THIS BABY BOY
SO MUCH LOVE, HOPE JOY (repeat)

The long dark night of waiting is over at last
The long dark night of waiting is over at last
This birth is just what Satan feared
While all of heaven stood and cheered
The long dark night of waiting is over at last

SO MUCH JOY, JOY
OVER THIS BABY BOY
SO MUCH LOVE, HOPE JOY (repeat)

God in flesh appearing, Emmanuel
God in flesh appearing, Emmanuel
The prophets longed to see the One
The Lord we worship, God the Son
God in flesh appearing, Emmanuel

SO MUCH JOY, JOY
OVER THIS BABY BOY
SO MUCH LOVE, HOPE JOY (repeat)
