Why we Worship

PSALM 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

Teach Me To Weep

THEME: Commpassion is a trait of God, and part of His name. We, however, do not come by it naturally. We look out for ourselves, and need the Spirit of God to awaken true compassion from within.

Lyrics | Description

My heart is strangely distant
My eyes don't fill with tears
The call to be a servant
Is not what it appears
My love is insufficient
To help a world in pain
I give, but then I realize
I have to give again

Teach me to weep
O Lord, teacn me to cry
To open wide my arms in love
I'm willing Lord to try
Teach me to weep
Till you melt this heart of stone
Into a heart that beats compassion like your very own

This plague of cold indifference
Is tantamount to sin
I'll start with love from you Lord
That's planted deep within
My world is full of people
You cause to pass my way
But when the fear comes rushing in
I say, "Some other day!"

BRIDGE
Chisel away the pride
Uncover the love that's buried deep inside
