Purpose: |
In Psalm 27, David narrows his desire down to one thing, the pursuit of God. His energies will be focused on the obtaining that one thing. He has tasted of the Lord, and nothing else satisfies. How do we get there?
Commentary: | Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple. Psalm 65:4
Our God loves His creatures He has made, and wants fellowship with them. We, however, are easily distracted, and the things of earth drown out the eternaly joys.
God, however, is doing all He can to woo us. He'll stop at nothing to get our attention. And then it happens. We taste of the Lord's goodness, we feast on His presence, we experience delight in knowing Him, and we're hooked. Nothing else quite satisfies any more, for nothing can compare to knowing and being known by God.
