Why we Worship

PSALM 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

Why Scripture?

Unchanging God

THEME: Everything around us may change, but the God we worship is immutable. It is not possible for him to improve, age, or morph. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. God will always be faithful. He cannot be anything else.

Lyrics | Description

O God our help in ages past
Our hope for years to come
Our shelter from the stormy blast
And our eternal home

Chorus
THOUGH WE ARE DUST WE TRUST IN YOU
ETERNAL GOD TO BRING US THROUGH
IN EVERY AGE YOU STAY THE SAME
UNCHANGING GOD WE BLESS YOUR NAME

Beneath the shadow of your throne
Your saints have dwelt secure
Sufficient is your arm alone
And our defense is sure

Chorus

Before the hills in order stood
Or earth received her frame
From everlasting you are God
To endless years the same

Chorus

A thousand ages in your sight
Are like an evening gone
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun

Chorus

O God our help in ages past
Our hope for years to come
Remain our guide while life shall last
And our eternal home

Chorus
